There is really no excuse for yesterday except plain business. I woke up extra early so I could get my exercise in because I knew if I waited until later in the day I would not get it in. I had so much stuff going on yesterday. The church visit was to discuss everything going on. It went well, and if nothing comes out of it but word of mouth to others then that is fine. - With them came paperwork from the Bishop so I spent hours getting additional paperwork together, filling out all of that and getting myself and my children ready for a trip to see my brother (who I havent seen in over 6 years!). Also, a friend came over to deliver a bed. I barely had time to make my dish as part of the potluck that we were going to (to see my brother.) On the way I stopped, chatted with the Bishop and turned the papers in. Ended up getting home fairly late and crashed in bed.
My contribution to the potluck
(crescent rolls stuffed with cream cheese, spinach, bacon, and mozzarella)
---
Breakfast today was a bowl of oatmeal. Im not a fan of instant oatmeal, but this brand I can tolerate
Lunch -(Spinach, broccoli, mushrooms, carrots)
Thats a serving bowl BTW.
Dinner - Eggplant and Spaghetti
Snack was some of the rolls from last night.

The smell of oatmeal has always made me feel like throwing up. Mu mother having grown in Ivory Coast and Lebanon she knew about oatmeal and decoded to make me some when I was a child. Bad bad bad bad memory.
At the end of my mission my poor companion made some oatmeal without warning me, she just could not believe my reaction because I got so sick that I had to get some fresh air.
I am just saying this for you to laugh because I know most people like this smell. I know it would be like getting sick over the smell of apple pie for example (I love apple pie).
On the other hand I have always loved brocoli because I hate it first when I was 14 and it is linked to a very good memory so your lunch looks yummy to me :)
Girl, you have been busy!!! You totally deserve a slacker day. Don't forget, there are slacker day points available. I usually reserve mine for saturday or sunday, but after my pathetic first week, I could probably use those points for any of these past few days. :)
Honestly, how are things going with the fundraising?
I make handbags and scripture totes, perhaps I could donate one to be raffled. Would there be an interest in something like that?
Oatmeal does have a strange smell. I like it because its filling. My middle child can eat TONS of oatmeal everyday but my others cant stand it.
Mikki, are you nuts? We would love any raffle items! The fundraising is starting to pick up now that the holidays are over and the rest of the year has gotten started. We have an event tomorrow (Sunday) and then one coming up in February. Some people from my Ward are putting together a 5K run in April I think and then thinking about some other benefits but Im not sure what they have planned or in the works. And the Bishop applied for some sort of fast-offering medical assistance funding. Im not quite sure how it works, but the way he talks is that it could potentionally help with all of our fundraising goals at once. That would be a big blessing and we would donate everything we have raised to another family in need of medical supplies/etc. Our biggest struggle so far has been that we are not a non-profit so any donations we received are not tax deductible. But we did have one very generous donation from a lady. So far we have raised about $2,000. We are hoping the event tomorrow goes well, but Im honestly not holding out much hope. Id be happy even if 20 people showed up.
I'll be sening my prayers Khourt. That would be awesome if the fast offering thing comes through. Definitely sending prayers for that to happen.
In the meantime, I'll get busy on some bags!
